2. To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee
One of the best novel by Harper lee, published in 1960s. This novel portrays the racial inequality that was prevalent about 50 years ago from the point of view of a 8 year old girl, Jean Louise Finch. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. This novel is regarded as Masterpiece of American Literature. I loved this book hence I included it in my list of Best Books to Read

3. The Heart is a lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers
Set in a small town in the middle of the deep South, it is the story of John Singer, a lonely deaf-mute, and a disparate group of people who are drawn towards his kind, sympathetic nature. One of the best books I read in my life. One of the surprising fact about this book is that the author McCullers was only 23 when she wrote this.

4. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
This is the story of a shepherd boy named “Santiago”, who travels in search of treasure. He receives different experiences which he never imagined. He learns life lessons, wisdom of listening to own heart. Though the ending is questionable but you will love the book as whole.

5. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
The Author here discuss about the perception he developed towards money from two different influences i.e his two fathers.This books takes us through the experiences shared by both, one educated but financially poor and other who is less educated but financially rich. It is an attempt to reprogram our minds to look at why we do what we do.

6. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
This novel tells story of the seven generations of Buendia family. It is an epic tragedy following a long line of familial insanity.The magical realism is beautifully shown. It is beautiful how author mixes up the fiction and reality such that reader ceases to realise where fiction begins and reality ends. It teaches about the chaos and order are two sides of the family life. This is most famous work of the Garcia Marquez published in 1967.

This is a beautifully crafted novel. Set in Afghanistan, which is on the backdrop of destruction for many years.This books makes you think about your life and re-evaluate your values. It transcends cultural gaps to highlight the feeling of guilt and redemption. This books makes you feel good about the condition you are in now. It teaches us to be thankful for everything we have in our country.
